Monitor operational performance and efficiency, broken down to different stages of the histology technical workflow, termed "Work Centre".
The Work Centre Monitoring screen helps demonstrate the efficiency of the Work Centres. It provides lab leaders with clear visibility of work centres that are underperforming resulting in longer wait times. This information can be used to support rostering and workforce balancing between the work centres.
To navigate between the work centres, use the drop-down to select the area of interest.
One of the key graphs that is available on this screen is the Work Ready by Day of Week series which represents the distribution of the item's Wait Time across the days of the week, over 26 weeks.
Here, users will be able to see how long the items have been waiting before it is worked on the Work Centre. The distribution of the wait time for the items should be relatively consistent. While it is expected that there are samples that require to wait for more than 12 hours before it is worked on, this volume should be relatively low.
Data demonstrating where the wait time is longer than usual would suggest operational issues such as staff shortages and equipment outages and should be investigated further.
There are two charts on this screen that provides information on Work Times and depending on the selected work centre, the work time is broken down into specimens, cassettes or slides. The first chart displays the average work time per item by week and will be helpful to monitor any trends, changes and outliers.
The second chart breaks down the average work time by the user during the selected period and will be useful to have a comparison view between the users completing work at the work centre.
Selecting a particular user bar will filter the dashboard to display data relevant to the selected user. This will be useful for a more detailed view of a particular user's performance. Alternatively, more details on user productivity are available on the User Productivity Screen.
